Claremore-Based AXH air-coolers Drives Regional Growth with 250+ Job Expansion

February 4, 2025

AXH air-coolers, headquartered in Claremore, Oklahoma, has been awarded $5.4 million through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce Business Expansion Incentive Program (BEIP) to fuel its continued growth across Northeast Oklahoma. This strategic investment will support the development of a new manufacturing campus in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, creating more than 200 high-quality jobs and further strengthening the region’s industrial workforce. Additionally, AXH's Claremore campus will add 50 new jobs to meet the increased demand from the new facility.

This milestone comes as AXH celebrates 20 years of growth and innovation. Founded in 2005 with just 25 employees, the company has since become North America’s largest manufacturer of air-cooled heat exchangers. AXH’s success was accelerated by strategic local investments, including the establishment of a tax increment financing (TIF) district, which enabled the company to expand its Claremore operations into an eight-facility campus employing over 750 individuals. In recognition of its significant contributions to the local economy and workforce, AXH was named Large Business of the Year by the Claremore Chamber of Commerce in late January.

With this latest expansion, AXH is reaffirming its commitment to Oklahoma by strategically growing within the region where it has established a strong foundation. The new Sapulpa facility will be developed in two phases, incorporating advanced manufacturing technologies, including state-of-the-art machinery and automation. This site will generate a wide range of employment opportunities, including roles in welding, assembly, machine operations and other specialized fields.

“AXH air-coolers is a powerful testament to the lasting benefits a community can reap when it chooses to invest in retaining and expanding Oklahoma-based businesses,” said Meggie Froman-Knight, Executive Director of Claremore Economic Development. “Programs like the Business Expansion Incentive Program (BEIP) equip these companies with the resources needed to expand, driving growth not only within their operations but also among local suppliers. This ripple effect strengthens the regional economy, fosters innovation and enhances long-term prosperity for the entire community.”

The expansion is supported by Oklahoma’s Business Expansion Incentive Program (BEIP), which assists companies making significant capital investments in machinery, equipment and facilities. This performance-based initiative provides annual payment awards to drive business growth and job creation across the state.

“We are proud to have built our business in Claremore and look forward to continuing to expand our presence in Oklahoma,” said Jim Simmons, Chief Operating Officer of AXH air-coolers.  “This investment marks another important milestone for our company, one that will create new opportunities not only for Sapulpa but for the entire region. We are excited to grow our footprint while contributing to the communities we call home.”

As AXH prepares for this next phase of expansion, the company is actively seeking skilled individuals to join its team. Positions are available in assembly, welding, machine operation and general labor. Those interested in career opportunities or more about AXH can visit axhaircoolers.com
