Claremore Regional Airport Reaches New Milestones with Major Improvements and Future Growth Plans
February 7, 2025

Spanning 565 acres, the Claremore Regional Airport has solidified its status as a premier destination for aviators across Northeast Oklahoma. Home to 86 base aircraft, the airport features 39 private hangars, 25 t-hangars and two large common hangars. In 2024, it recorded approximately 12,380 operations, marking another successful year.
In 2024, Claremore Regional Airport reached significant milestones, enhancing tenant services and optimizing operations. To better serve its community, the airport introduced a new texting service for quick dissemination of important updates, including facility closures, infrastructure changes and key operational notices. In addition, a revamped website now offers weekly fuel price updates, streamlined access to tenant resources and sign-up links for events and other useful information.
Safety and efficiency remain at the forefront of the airport’s priorities. In 2024, the airport updated its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), enhanced the airfield training manual and implemented FAA Part 139 fuel training to improve compliance and fuel handling protocols.
Looking ahead, Claremore Regional Airport is preparing for a series of transformative projects. A remodel of the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) facility is planned for 2025 to enhance experiences for tenants and visitors. To improve fueling operations, new Jet A and Avgas refuelers will be introduced. In December 2024, the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) awarded the airport a grant to support the purchase of a new Jet A refuel truck, which will better serve the needs of tenants and guests.
An updated Airport Layout Plan (ALP) will address fire suppression requirements and include the development of 40 acres northeast of the airport. The airport’s FY26-FY30 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) outlines $13.3 million in enhancements over the next five years. Among these projects, a new 100ft x 60ft commercial box hangar is slated for completion in 2025. Current construction efforts, such as the relocation of utility lines, are nearing completion, with the next steps involving the pouring of a concrete drainage channel and completion of the hangar pad. Additionally, the airport is finalizing a comprehensive overhaul of its septic system to ensure long-term sustainability.
“Partnerships and collaboration are the foundation of our success at Claremore Regional Airport,” said Colby Linder, Claremore Regional Airport Manager. “We deeply appreciate the commitment of our tenants, the City of Claremore, the Oklahoma Department of Aeronautics, and the FAA. Their support ensures that we continue to grow, innovate, and serve our community effectively.”
