AXH Air-coolers has recently broken ground on their latest multi-million dollar expansion in Claremore, Oklahoma, making their manufacturing complex of facilities the largest in their industry. The company designs and manufactures air-cooled heat exchangers for the natural gas compression and power generation industries.

"This expansion includes some exciting special features and equipment that will contribute to our goal as a market-leading manufacturing operation,” said Ken Jones, AXH President.

This comes on the heels of the company’s acquisition and renovation this past year of a 103,000square foot adjacent vacant building left dormant and out of production for a number of years. Current construction includes three new facilities in their continued growth and expansion.

"We couldn’t be more excited to partner with AXH as they expand their business,” said Claremore City Manager Jim Thomas. “Ken Jones and Jim Lynch, General Manager, are the type of entrepreneurs we want in Claremore and we hope to support their operations at every level possible.”

The three new buildings will comprise an additional 172,000 square feet on 29 adjoining acres and increase the size of the current facilities by 50%, which will result in up to 120 new jobs since the first of the year.

Their three existing buildings have been expanded steadily and represent upwards of 350,000 square feet of manufacturing space on 38 acres. New buildings currently under construction will consist of 172,000 additional square feet resulting in a combined total of just over 500,000 square feet on 67 acres.

The expansion boasts a big win for the City of Claremore, and serves as a successful case study to retain and expand businesses within the region through the continued efforts of regional partners including the Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority (CIEDA) and the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce.

“We cannot say enough good things about CIEDA and the City of Claremore and the continued support and cooperation that we’ve received from them since moving here in early 2005,” says Jones.

"Manufacturers in northeast Oklahoma share workforce, suppliers, and resources," said CIEDA Executive Director, Jeri Koehler. “It’s important we all work together to meet the needs of the businesses in the region.”

Completion of the current expansion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2015.
