Claremore Regional Airport positioned for successful 2024

January 8, 2024

Claremore Regional Airport

It has been another great year at the Claremore Regional Airport! This year, we maintained full hangar capacity, accommodating a total of 90 based aircraft across 43 hangar buildings.

The airport continues to solidify its reputation as a preferred regional destination for Northeast Oklahoma travelers. Notably, in 2023, it recorded close to 12,700 operations, comprising take-offs and landings. The airport has also invested considerable efforts towards upgrading infrastructure, facilities, and amenities to provide guests a seamless and convenient experience.

Among the highly anticipated upgrades was an overhaul to the airport’s pump and point of sale system. Our new self-service station provides customers 24-hour access to Jet A and 100LL fuel. Additionally, we completed a $1,265,370 Apron Rehabilitation Project. This project added a two to three-inch mill and overlay, with full-depth subgrade repairs and underground drainage installation. Initiatives like the apron rehabilitation project exemplify our commitment to safety, providing pilots with the essential resources for secure flight operations.

Our staff is also proud to help fuel the next generation of aviation enthusiasts, opening our facilities to the public for hands-on, educational events. We were honored to serve as the home for the second annual Green Country Aero Fest, hosted by Aircraft Specialties Services. The event welcomed more than 100 aircraft and 300 guests. We were proud to partner with the Rogers State University AeroCats Stem Team for assistance with a drone obstacle course and Pryor High School Innovation Center who lead flight simulation stations in our Kids’ Zone.

Looking ahead to 2024, the airport team is eager to sustain the momentum of growth and improvement, with active plans to continue expanding offerings and provide a secure location for aviators across Northeast Oklahoma to safely and affordably house their aircraft. A grant awarded by the FAA and Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission will support the construction of a 100’ x 60’ commercial hangar space next year. This project will also address drainage challenges and serve as a catalyst for future private development.

From events to educational opportunities and facility improvements, our team has many exciting things on the horizon for 2024! We are grateful for the opportunity to serve a fantastic community of tenants, guests, and aviation enthusiasts and look forward to another great year of taking to the skies.
